For over 25 years, I've built and managed websites. I've watched the internet transmute from a tool for connection into a battleground for attention. Auto-play videos and audio, distracting ads, repeated ads, overlaid ads that hide content, and popup subscribe boxes within seconds of visiting a website negatively changed my reading habits. Then came Wallabag.
I'm particularly impressed with Wallabag's Android app. It’s simple. I love the text-to-speech (TTS) feature that lets me listen to recipes while cooking. While Wallabag is free and has been around for a while, it's a bit tricky for non-technical users to configure properly. You should self-host if you can, but this service is for those who ~ understandably ~ don't want to. Cachea exists so you can focus on using Wallabag.
Cachea's name comes from cache—French for "hidden."
