Migrating your saved articles from Pocket to Cachea only takes a few quick steps.
We’ll guide you so you keep your reading list organized and secure on Cachea. If you’ve saved links and articles you want to keep reading later, this guide will help you bring them with you.
Export Your Pocket Data
First, let’s gather your articles from Pocket.
- Go to Pocket’s export page.
- Click “Export HTML file.” This will begin downloading a simple file called
ril_export.html
.
Think of this file as a folder full of bookmarks you can take anywhere.
Import Your Pocket Data into Cachea
Now you’re ready to bring your saved links to Cachea.
- Log in to your Cachea account.
- Go to the top right menu.
- Click on “Import.”
- Choose the Pocket import option.
- Upload your
ril_export.html
file.
Here’s what happens: Cachea reads your list of saved links and titles.
But Pocket doesn’t let us move over the actual content directly.
Instead, Cachea fetches the readable content of each article again. You may notice that highlights or tags from Pocket won’t come across, but Cachea gives you tools to organize and tag your articles after finishing the import.
What Should You Expect?
After you import, your reading list will have all your Pocket links. Cachea will work to pull the latest full article text from the original website for each link. This means:
- Your articles may look a bit different than in Pocket, especially if websites have changed.
- Notes, highlights, and tags from Pocket will not transfer, but you can add new tags once the articles are in Cachea.
Next Steps for Your Reading List
When your articles appear in Cachea, you can tag, organize, or archive them with built-in features. If you spot missing articles or imported items that look off, try importing again or reach out to Cachea support.
Your import is safe to redo – just clear your list and start over if needed. Our goal is to make your move as smooth as possible.
